The Wilds refer to the areas west of Lake Kisemi, despite the fact that parts of those areas are inhabited. The country of Tazelos is considered part of the Wilds, as well as the Kumei Grasslands.
Wild magic is said to be here, with faeries, unicorns, and any number of other supernatural beings that wish to avoid the other races. In particular, the Northern Woods are protected from invaders by a band of unicorns and fae. There's a magical web that stops would-be invaders before they can get even half a mile into the Woods.
Along the western end of the continent is the long strip of land referred to as the Brambles. The name derives from the twisted undergrowth that grows in a swirling, chaotic mass. These plants, which are often barbed, thorned, and home to poisonous flowers, are called kaugot, and seem to strive to rip apart any who would enter into their reach. They can grow higher than a dragon, and many arcanists and shamans like to use them in their experiments.
The island off the northwestern edge of Shipp'ike is considered another part of the Wilds and is rumoured to be volcanic and the home of giants. The island is called Fatua.
Little more is known about the Wilds in general, except that uncanny things happen there. Walking west for hours, you can find yourself back at the eastern edge of the Wilds.
