"In the midst of the Crusading War came the fateful Battle of Cydrid. Losses were astronomical on both sides, but the elves came out victorious in the end. This victory came mainly due to the sacrifice of the 2nd Regiment, Emerald Guard Elite Forces. The 300 man unit held the Cydrid Pass, the only viable path for any large force, from Garida into Deny'ek. This was the first time the messengers, mini-dragons, were targeted by enemy forces, thus causing confusion along the battle lines. The humans sent two regiments into the pass so they could flank the main elven forces. Only one unit member survived the assault, holding back the enemy until reinforcements could reach him."
